Kubina Looks to be on the Move

(2/16/12) Looks like the Lightning intend to deal Pavel Kubina before the deadline.  Kubina did not skate in the morning session Thursday and will not play tonight against the Sharks as the team looks to "protect its interests."

Tampa GM Steve Yzerman indicated that nothing is imminent, but confirmed he's asked Kubina for a list of teams that he'd be willing to report to - Kubina has a limited no-trade clause.  

So essentially, Kubina is gone to the highest bidder.  A trade might help his fantasy value a little, as his production in Tampa Bay has been mediocre.  He arrived two seasons ago - his second stint with the team - as a defenseman who was consistently around the 40-point plateau, but he'll leave as a guy coming off a disappointing 23-point season who has only 11-points in 52-games this year.

 He's still got the booming shot, and at 34 he's not quite over-the-hill.  He could help a power-play unit and possibly up his production with a fresh start.  Here's what Yzerman had to say about the situation...
