Elliott Too Sporadic to Start?

Standard Spin: We analyzed Brian Elliott's suprising play a month ago in our "Suprise Goalies" editorial, but over the last 2-weeks Elliott's games-played has nose-dived while Jaroslav Halak has resumed his role as the team's quasi-number one.  Saturday Elliott got his first start in a week and, low and behold, he got his 5th shutout on the year - stopping only 15 shots en route.  While Elliott continues to play well, we feel that his role is almost too limited to utilize effectively (unless your league is so bad ass that you have a special category for back-up goaltenders).  Although Elliott got the shutout, stopping only 15 shots to do so sounds more like a lucky break than a 'stand-on-your-head' type of performance.  Elliott is producing one of those fantasy performances that is so sporadic that it is near impossible to utilize.  Unless you are willing to enjoy some famine with your feast, look elsewhere for a netminder who plays more consistently.
