Flyers are the 'All Rookie Team'
Standard Spin: What do you get when you trade away the heart and soul of a hockey team? Well, an opportunity to rebuild from the ground up is one way to answer that question. Last summer the Philadelphia Flyers traded away Jeff Carter and Mike Richards - two pillars of the organization - and in return received super prospect Brayden Schenn (amongst others). In addition, the void at forward created roster spots for Matt Read, Sean Couturier and Harry Zolnierczyk, the latter of whom has now played 27 games this season for Philly. Tuesday it was all about the rookies as 3 of the 4 picked up points in the Flyers' 2-1 win. Schenn and Couturier both scored, while Zolnierczyk had an assist. Keeper owners look out; Schenn, Couturier and Read are all gamers - Schenn and Couturier can probably be had on the cheep too. (Jan.11)
