Gill and Geoffrion Trade Places

(2/17/12) Last season, Blake Geoffrion had a decent start to his NHL career by scoring 6 goals and even notching a hat-trick in 20 games, but 2011-2012 hasn't been all that great.  With just 22 games played and zero goals, Nashville has shipped him off to Montreal in exchange for veteran defenseman Hal Gill.

And the move might be exactly what Geoffrion needs to kick start his young career.  Montreal is the same team with which his grandfather, one Boom Boom Geoffrion, won 6 Stanley Cups, 2 Art Ross Trophies, and 1 Hart as the NHL's MVP.  Needless to say, the fans in Montreal will welcome Geoffrion with open arms.  The Habs also get a second round draft pick in the deal.
