Sharp May Need Off-season Wrist Surgery
Standard Spin: After missing eight games with a broken hand, Patrick Sharp returned to the Hawks' line-up Tuesday and clocked in for his usual workload. However, according to the Chicago Tribune, Sharp still has a broken bone in his wrist that has not healed and may need off-season surgery to repair the damage.
After practice Tuesday Sharp reportedly said he is 100%, but an undisclosed team source was quoted as saying Sharp is still dealing with soreness and swelling. Apparently the bone is still broken, although it is not "critical" for movement and he should be able to play through it.
So there you have it. This could very well nag at him the rest of the way, and there's really no telling just how much of an effect it might have. If true, expect Sharp's production to sag very slightly, and possibly more. With that said, he needs to be active in all fantasy line-ups, as he'll still put up solid totals even at less than 100%.
