SUN Injury Update: Timonen, Pronger, Lehtonen, O'Reilly, Aucoin
(5/13/12) The Conference Finals are set to get underway Sunday night, but the biggest injury news is coming out of the 2012 World Championships.
First, Kari Lehtonen - the Dallas Stars' number one netminder - has suffered an injury on a collision with Bobby Ryan in Finland's 5-0 loss to the US. The full nature of the ailment is unclear, and we await further detail.
Next, Ryan O'Reilly had a breakout season for the Colorado Avalanche in 2011-12, but he has suffered a LBI at the WCs while playing for Canada. His current status is also lacking further detail.
Back in North America, Flyers D-man Kimmo Timonen apparently needs knee surgery this offseason. The operation remains tentative, but it is definitely a story to keep tabs on for Timonen owners. In addition, the Flyers are publicly expecting Chris Pronger (concussion) to dawn a Philly jersey in 2012-2013.
Finally, with Adrian Aucoin out for Phoenix with an undsiclosed injury, David Schlemko will dress in Game 1 against the Kings. Schlemko had a decent 2010-2011, but failed to build on that this year, notching only 1 goal and 11 points in 46 games.
Enjoy Round 2!
