NHL Central Scouting Ranks Yakupov, Grigorenko 1-2

Standard Spin: The NHL's mid-season Central Scouting Bureau rankings were released Wednesday, and a pair of Russians sit at the top of the heap of potential 2012 draftees.  Nail Yakupov of the OHL's Sarnia Sting is the #1 rated N. American prospect, while Mikhail Grigorenko of the QMJHL's Quebec Remparts rates at #2.

Yakupov is no doubt a worthy choice as the first pick, as he might be the more NHL-ready of the two.  He plays with great speed and explosiveness, and combines outstanding offensive instincts with a healthy dose of intensity.  With that said, we slightly favor Grigorenko, who might need a little extra seasoning, but who has us drooling over his magic stick-handling and smooth offensive game.  He's the type of player that makes the incredible look effortless.

Check out some highlights of both players below.  And sorry about the music... it's the price you pay for fantasy glory.  (Jan.11)
