Not Quite a Miracle for Canada

Standard Spin: Canada nearly pulled off a comeback for the ages, but fell just short in a 6-5 loss to Russia in the semi-final game at the World Junior Championship.  Canada trailed 6-1 with 12 minutes left in the third, then rallied with 4 goals in a little over 5 minutes.  The final moments brought several furious scoring attempts, but backup goalie Andrei Makarov locked down the fort, and Canada will have to settle for a bronze medal game against Finland.  Capitals' prospect Evgeny Kuznetsov bagged a hat-trick for Russia and definitely left an impression.  He could wind up in the NHL as early as next season... keeper owners take note.  (Jan.4)
