Injury Recap: Sunday Games

(2/20/12) Jaroslav Halak was scratched for the second straight game with flu-like symptoms, as the Blues went with Brian Elliott in a 3-1 loss to the Hawks Sunday.  Halak should be available for St. Louis' next game on Wednesday.

Hawks defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson missed his sixth straight game with an UBI, but he's getting close.  He'll probably be a game-time decision Tuesday against Detroit.

The Wild were without Mikko Koivu against Bruins, the second straight time Koivu has sat out with an undisclosed injury.  The team has divulged very little on this one, so all we know is he's day-to-day.  Consider Koivu questionable for Thursday against the Panthers.

Kurtis Foster took the night off for the Devils.  He's dealing with a back strain.

The Panthers lost Matt Bradley when he crashed hard into the boards in the second period against the Ducks.  He left the game with a UBI and did not return.

Defenseman Zach Bogosian remains out with a suspected foot injury.  He missed his third straight game for the Jets, and he's doubtful for Tuesday.

For the Oilers, Corey Potter is getting closer, but he sat out a third consecutive game resting his troublesome groin.  And Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, out with a separated shoulder, could return as early as Tuesday.  He has yet to return to full-contact practice though, so we suspect Thursday is a more realistic target.  As well, goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin is out 7-10 days with a groin injury.
