Varlamov Clearly #1 in Colorado

Standard Spin: Semyon Varlamov just didn't fit into the plans in Washington when the Caps brought in Vokoun this past offseason, partly due to his inexperience.  However, with the young team in Colorado he fits in nicely and, considering the team sits 8th in the West, he is playing admirably with a win/loss record of 13-13-1 and one shutout.  Monday night he locked down the fort for the Avs' in a 2-1 shootout win over the Kings.  Varlamov is a bubble boy in most leagues, however keeper owners should have their finger on this pulse as the Avs are a team building for the future.  As well, fantasy owners in dire straits at goalie could consider picking Varlamov up off the waiver wire if need be.  Be aware that JS Giguere is currently playing in about 1/3rd of Colorado's games.
